ILAC Professor Héctor Hoyos inaugurated the research group by presenting a draft of a book chapter on food in the work of Cuban novelist Antonio José Ponte. Graduate student coordinator Patricia Valderrama kicked off a discussion on selections from Antony Hudek’s The Object that bridge the gap between historical and new materialisms.
