Our third and last event of the Fall quarter featured Mary J. Weismantel (Anthropology, Northwestern University) and Peruvian artist Sandra Gamarra.

Our speakers will discussed Weismantel’s new book Playing with Things: Engaging the Moche Sex Pots (University of Texas Press, 2021) in connection with Gamarra’s artistic work on Indigenous objects.

The event, co-sponsored by the Department of Art and Art History and the Stanford Archaeology Center, will take place TODAY, November 16 at 12:30pm PST via Zoom.
